The Introduction

Hello dear readers,

My name Engelbert, I hail from the land of Grimm. As a youth my Mother would tell me of a land of Wonder and fairies. A place of tales so kind a sweet. Mother would tell me of that’s that hold a similarity to our own tales, such as Aschenputtel or Hänsel und Grete. I would seek these stories from my fellow townsfolk of this place. They call Disney, such a strange name so much unlike our own. Through my research of the tales, I have never been able to find the equivalent to my favorite tale The Juniper tree. Most of the tales from Disney do not include such blood and gore. The tale world terrified me as a youth from killing my dear brother so that he would not crush me with a stone. However now I understand that the tale told of revenge and religion.   I wish to be able travel to Disney and be able to experience the journey from our dark land of Grimm to the wonder. This journey could be long and tiring yet, I feel that it shall be worth it to gain an understanding of the tales of my childhood. I hope to find the roots of our tales and to why Disney’s tales are so similar yet so different. The desire to learn more of this, outweighs the need to stay safe.
