It’s been a week since I have left my home in Grimm, for the past two days I have been staying in a town in The Between. The innkeeper’s wife tells me tales that are common among the townsfolk. She told a tale of the Brothers Grimm. The people whom united the land of tales, the very people whom the land was named after. The tale was quite outlandish and abhorrent to the truth. Why Jacob Grimm, the brother whom I look the most up to, was openly flirting with people and was quite sociable, something a recluse like him would never be. The innkeeper also referred to the brothers as Will and Jake, such names only common in parts of The Between. Wilhelm was as a very spirited and healthy character, compared to his normally sickly self. She told of both of the brothers drinking, something that was against the brother’s religion. Jacob was hardly a scholar and Wilhelm was no such thing in her tale. The worst part of all was that the brothers worked as conmen in her tale, something that wouldn’t be seen from them. The Brothers lived by honesty and truth, something that their father wished for them to be. The tale also included parts of other stories from Grimm, as if they were part of the Brother’s lives. I wonder if this is how the people in The Between see our founders. I truly hope not, I will be leaving this village tomorrow. Hopefully, the next village isn’t to far, however everything seems to be so far away in The Between.
