Week 4 – A passing thought

Magic is not real. Sadly.

Many folks tell of success stories. “From rags to riches” is what they call it. However, for these people they do not just magically gain success or become rich. This is simply due to magic not being real.

The tales that families have passed down over the years and through generations. The same tales my mother would tell my brothers and I, the ones that the Brothers Grimm collected. These tales would include stories like this, ones referred to as “Rise Tales”. A popular one that I grew up loving was Cinderella. A tale of a girl who went from an abused servant girl to a prince’s wife. She achieved this through magic and marriage.

Marriage is a realist way to go for rags to riches. Though most people would look at these people, and not think of them as success stories. Many would think of them as “gold diggers”, or that these people have cheated the system and are not success stories. Even if the person who married rich, had worked their whole life to succeed. Or people who have married rich and are helping and doing good things for the world. They are still though of as lazy and greedy people.

Success stories truly can not be achieved if magic is used or the person marries rich.
